Purchasing a Toy Manchester puppy from Aikos
When you receive a puppy from me, you can expect to receive a higher quality, socialized, well adjusted and trained dog, even at 10 weeks
old. My philosophy is to train using positive training methods,
specifically clicker training at all ages and stages of a dog's life. I
am very proactive in continued training to support a happy and healthy
dog. A show prospect puppy from breeders should follow the
standards described in the overall appearance of a typical Manchester
Terrier such outward appearance (phenotypic) characteristics as size,
shape, coat, head, neck, ears, eye color, tail length, gait, and bite.
However these are dogs should be able to perform rat catching; its
traditional function - so muscling and good bite is a must in this
breed.
If you are serious about owning a Toy Manchester Terrier from Aikos, I
will put you on our waiting list or refer you to another reputable
breeder who may be able to fulfill your needs. I do not promise puppies
to anyone and must wait until the litter is born to assess what I have.
All puppies going to family pet homes will be given limited AKC
registration*. If you are interested in showing and receiving full AKC
registration documents, a show home contract will be required.
1) Puppies will go to their new homes at 9 to 10 weeks of age. Balance
must be paid in full prior to delivery. If the puppy is not delivered
until after such age, full payment will still be required at 10 weeks.
2) Puppies are reviewed at 4 weeks, but not evaluated for health,
temperament and conformation until they are 8 weeks old. An initial
non-refundable wait list deposit of $50 is required. After the birth, if
there is a puppy type available in the litter, I require a
non-refundable deposit of one-half the purchase price to reserve that
puppy for you no later than when the puppy is of 4 weeks of age. I
reserve the right to return any deposit at any time and not place a
puppy if I should decide the situation is unsuitable for the puppy.
3) I will keep you updated on the progress of the breeding, pregnancy,
and whelping. Photos and information about individual pups will be
actively provided. If you live near by, I encourage you to come over and
watch them grow!
4) All my puppies are placed on spay/neuter contracts, with limited AKC
registration*. This contract is to protect the purchaser, the puppy, and
Aikos Toy Manchester Terriers. All contracts are reviewed and signed
before a puppy is released to their new home.
5) Show homes are always needed and you may be interested in showing.
If so, please let me know and we can discuss your willingness to
fulfill the obligations of only using positive reinforcement training.
If you are nearby and are interested in getting your first show dog,
mentorship arrangements can be made and a show prospect puppy may be an
option.
6) I will always stand behind my dogs and puppies for the life-time
of the dog. I will take back
for ANY reason if the owner can no longer keep it, just like a good rescue
does. I also health test my
dogs and with the puppies
guarantee genetic disorder health defects which compromise the quality
of life of the dog up until 2 years of age.
7) Any puppies that do not meet the breed written standard, or may have
congenital anomaly are automatically placed on spay/neuter contracts
with limited AKC registration*.
8) I do not ship puppies in cargo and if you prefer, I will refer you to
a breeder closer to your location or one who ships. Or if others are
going to your area we can make arrangements for delivery.
9) Lastly, puppies are reviewed at 8 weeks old following a temperament
test and structure evaluation of the litter. At this time I will be able
to officially inform you of being a proud owner of Aikos Toy Manchester
Terrier!

I highly encourage everyone
I meet to actively seek out dog shows in your area to see
manchesters in person. Let me
know if you would like me to help locate one for you.
If you are in Nevada or in California I am actively in and around
that area and would be very happy to meet you in person at a place
to have you see my dogs play and enjoy the day!
This gives you an opportunity to see manchesters at play as
well as make sure this is the right breed for you.
* Limited Registration;
Limited Registration means
that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are
eligible for AKC registration.
